"The Friendly Cow"

"The Friendly Cow" (original) (Summertime version)
Cutouts and colors. This is for you if you want; just make a screen shot and print. This picture is a tribute to my sister Judy, who died May 31, 2008, of leukemia. She was 72 and didn't want to leave yet.
Judy
used to sing Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Cow" to us when we were small:
The friendly cow all red and white
I love with all my heart:
She gives me cream with all her might,
To eat with apple-tart.
She wanders lowing here and there,
And yet she cannot stray,
All in the pleasant open air,
The pleasant light of day;
And blown by all the winds that pass
And wet with all the showers,
She walks among the meadow grass
And eats the meadow flowers.

My cousin Susie Hurll Bastian liked the Summer Cow so much that she asked if I would make
pictures for the other seasons. Below are the results. Starting top left and going clockwise:
"Fall", "Winter #1", "Winter #2", and "Spring".
Again, all yours for the taking, in honor of my sister,
Judith Ann Hulsman Buffington.
